Perplexing sunny day in Vancouver

Sat May 23, 2009, 10:15 PM
  • Listening to: Derek Trucks
  • Reading: M. Freeman`s The Photographer's Eye: Composition..
  • Watching: Duckman Season 3
  • Playing: with Photoshop
  • Eating: fruit smoothie
So today I had a great time with a longtime friend... we walked around and talked while I took pictures... the light was fab... and the conversation was refreshingly free and honest.

The only perplexing thing was that my Sony lens seemed to want to act strange today... it is the model 18200 and is 18mm-200mm. When I was with Kalina the other night snapping shots it performed brilliantly. Today I got home and I have to say I was suprised at the slight softness in many of the images.

Still it was an astounding day. No headaches either (and I get many of those usually).

One other thing: I am so proud to be a Sony user! Everything works great and I am really loving the two Sonys I use. THough I do have to put in a good word for the Nikon P5100 I also use... amazing images from a point and shoot.

Whether it is sunny... rainy... snowing... or foggy... I drag my ass from my comfortable chair and grab my tripod and camera bag to go snap pics every chance that I can... LITERALLY!

A couple of years ago I did a lot of drumming and playing music... but that has been replaced with photography... NO REGRETS! Music was fab... but all the things to learn about how to take better pics in all kinds of lighting conditions is the kind of challenge and creative outlet I need.

All critically constructive feedback is welcome.

Peace to you and keep taking risks in how you do it!
